Grief Stricken

What do you say when someone says that they’re okay with the possibility of dying? And I don’t mean like ‘oh, everybody’s gonna die someday!’, but an actual possibility of getting much much closer to your time to go.
What do you say when someone tells you they’re old and that they’ve lived a long life and if it’s what the ‘Good Lord has in store’ then it must just be time?
What about when they say that they aren’t worried about their test results, only about their wife of 60+ years?
I said ‘I love you, grandpa.’ (Even though there is no blood relation at all.) What else is there to say?
